Playwright Gin is a father-son owned brand, born from a shared vision to invigorate the industry by creating a unique gin inspired by London's rich history. It occupies an unprecedented middle ground between a traditional London Dry and a flavoured gin. While it adheres to all the classic 'rules' of a London Dry, including a 24-hour maceration in Cerasus before distillation, it presents a sweeter taste than typical London Dry gins.
Dating back to the 16th century, King Henry VIII was the first to introduce Cerasus to the United Kingdom, growing them in what became known as the 'Garden of England.' Fast forward 400 years, and the theatre industry flourished in both the UK and the US, famously known as Broadway in America. Playwright Gin encapsulates this rich heritage within each bottle. The design echoes pre-war gin bottles, while the label offers a modern twist on vintage theatre posters, blending London's storied past into the perfect gin.
