Cox, facing a shortage of gin, improvised by combining local ingredients to create this refreshing libation. The cocktail gained international recognition when it found its way to the United States, capturing the hearts of cocktail enthusiasts and eventually evolving into a symbol of timeless elegance. Over the years, the Daiquiri has seen numerous variations and adaptations, but its enduring appeal lies in its perfect harmony of sweet, sour, and spirit—a testament to the beauty of simplicity in mixology.

A martini or coupe glass
Cocktail shaker
A lime (for garnish)

Instructions:

1. Prepare Your Glass:
• Chill a coupe or martini glass by placing it in the freezer or filling it with ice

2. Combine the Ingredients:
• In a shaker, add 50ml Dead Man's Fingers White Rum, 25ml Funkin Pure Pour Lime Purée and 15ml Funkin Sugar Can Syrup
• Add ice to the shaker

3. Shake Well:
• Shake the ingredients vigorously for about 10-15 seconds. This not only chills the cocktail but also ensures proper dilution

4. Strain, Garnish & Serve:
• Discard the ice from the chilled martini or coupe glass
• Strain the mixture from the shaker into the glass
• Garnish with a lime wheel or twist for a decorative touch
• Your Daiquiri is now ready to be enjoyed! Sip and savour the rich and well-balanced flavours of this timeless cocktail
